Robert Gooooulet! 1933-2007....NATURE!!!

Robert Goulet, the legendary star of stage, screen, television and recordings, was pronounced dead at 10:17am yesterday. He had been suffering from a rapidly progressive pulmonary fibrosis, a condition that is most often fatal. Most treatments are ineffectual. The only successful treatment is lung transplantation. Mr. Goulet had been in intensive care at Cedars Sinai since October 14, 2007.

At the time of his death his wife of 25 years, Vera Goulet, who has been with him constantly since his hospitalization, was holding his hand until his last breath. Also present were his two sons Christopher and Michael along with his longtime friend and family physician Dr. David Kipper.

He is survived by his wife, his two sons, his daughter Nicolette, and his two grandchildren Jordan and Solange. The family is grateful for all of the support from his friends and fans but requests that their privacy be respected at this difficult time. So, Emily, this means we need to stop sending letters everyday like we use to... :)

Went to San Bernardino, actually Escondido to the Lawrence Welk Theatre to see "Thoroughly Modern Millie"...We are thinking about doing it.

ashleyO said...

You better wait until I can be in it!!! Hey was it at the Place where we stayed in Escondido that one time? At the Lawrence Welk Resort?

Lyd said...

I'm jealous of your blog.

shauna said...

Yeah, the theatre was at the bottom of the hill where we stayed. As we drove out to get back on the freeway we passed it. We will possibly do it in the Sprin of 2009.

ashleyO said...

Lydia, I actually had the same background as yours for like 2 minutes as I was trying to find something else so yours is still cute!!! Um, so shush!

Sweet! Those were fun times in Escondido. Spring 2009? I'm sooooo there! If I can be that is!

The Hale Theater is doing that right now too.

I thought you said the Residence Inn was nice. It must not be the one I thought you stayed at. That one by Sams and Costco is nice to me.

Also, hey Ash...nice title, Bodat.

shauna said...

No, Alli, the hotel we stayed in was in San Bernardino, but the show was in Escondido...Ashley is referring to the time that we traded into the Lawrence Welk Resort in Escondidi.

Also, the title is nice. People still laugh at me when I say "Smith's Food King".

ashleyO said...

Escondidi eh? nice! Can we call it that from now on?

Um, I was going to say Ashley's Food King...but it's just better without the 's.....right Alli?

Alli Fantastico said...

Exactly Ash. Oh and since the other week when we decided to say the "food king" after things, I've used it many many hilarious times. Too bad I'm usually the only one laughing...or am I?!?!? (dun dun dunnnnnnnn)
