ATM Security Tip:

Sooooooo it's time for a new subject here! Yesterday (12/16) marked the 41st year since Walt Disney died. Dang lung cancer...I still love him anyway! AND today (12/17) marks the 36th year since my lovely parents were married!!!! Yay to them and 36 happy years of marriage together. That's barely a dent on eternity. I love you both!

This Is Why People Are Single....!!!

In the Daily Universe readers, students, faculty and BYU staff, are invited to write letters to the editor when they feel the need to get something off of their chest. The letters can express how someone gets lost on campus or how the Cougarettes shouldn't dance to hymns or that others shouldn't dis on Utah/Utahns. This section is best known as [Readers' Forum].

In Wednesday, December 12's edition, a young fellow from Springfield, Oregon wrote a very specific letter to the editor about his feelings towards the women of the church. His letter is entitled "Message for Sisters." I'm not going to share my feelings at this moment but I AM including his words below for you to read first.

If I were a Relief Society president I would teach the sisters that:
  1. BYU guys don't have to be dancers to be marriageable. Do I really have to watch "Step Up" with you?
  2. RMs are not creepy. They're just awkward. Wouldn't you be if you hadn't dated in two years?
  3. Bug-eyed sunglasses and furry boots are not attractive.
  4. Taping "Will Open for Dates Only" signs on your door will not get you more dates.
  5. Don't ask guys to watch musicals with you. We watch "Terminator" and "Die Hard," not "Newsies" and "Wicked."
  6. Guys go to football games to watch football, not to chat. If you don't understand the rules, don't ask.
  7. Synthetic diamonds are just as good as, and a lot cheaper, than "real" diamonds. Do you want to live in a cardboard box for five years after your wedding?
  8. Marriage is not a major.
  9. You can ask guys on dates. They won't be offended.
  10. Sisters, you're special.
OK. Now it's time for my verbal retaliation. But before I do, I must admit that I agree on some of his arguments. Bug-eye sunglasses and furry mammoth boots are heinous (especially when the pants are tucked into the boots *gags*). And Synthetic diamonds are AWESOME!!! Don't you think being picky and demanding about having a REAL DIAMOND is worldly? If he can't afford it he can't afford it. It's not the ring that's important; it's the temple that counts. I'd rather him take me to the temple then take me to Tiffany & Co. ANYDAY! (both would be nice but I could care less).

First***It's only fair if we have to sit and watch Action movies that the guy sits and watches a simple movie like "You've Got Mail" or "Step Up." IT'S CALLED COMPROMISE! If you don't want to watch it then find another girl (and good luck)! Luckily, I love every type of movie out there except for the gory thanks.
Second***I've seen guys post silly things on their doors too. It's not just the 'sisters' that do this. Ask my brother and cousins!!! LOL...If you have a problem with it stop going over there.
Third***I've gone to a couple football games where the guy talked the whole time too. And just because a girl doesn't understand the rules doesn't make her stupid. Have you ever thought that maybe she asked you about the rules because she wants to be interested in something you like or because she thinks it's cute when a guy makes her feel included/informed about something you're interested in? Maybe she likes your voice and knowledge of sports. Pathetic and rude if you ask me.
Fourth***Who ever said marriage was a major? Are you saying that we come here for the sole purpose of finding a spouse? What's wrong with that (as long as it is done subtly)? I know plenty of guys who join folk dance JUST so they can find a wife. Just because you don't have any luck with the ladies doesn't mean you must take it out on us!
Fifth***I know lots of guys who are traditionalists and they freak out, even lose interest, if a girl asks them out on a date. Most guys like to do the asking because they feel as if they are using their power of being the man. See, what makes the dating game hard is that everyone has their own preference of who they like, what they like to do/watch/eat, and even how they liked to get asked out. OH!!! Some guys make it seem as if they don't want to get asked out so we don't. I know it goes the same for 'sisters' too but make yourself seem approachable...after this spiel I don't know what the ladies are going to think. TALK ABOUT WORD VOMIT!
Lastly***"Sisters, you're special." WHAT THE HECK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? Are you just making fun of us now or are you honestly trying to be sincere about that? Yes, we are special but I sense a STROOOONG sting of sarcasm behind those words. I would know. Ask my family and friends!

There you have it folks. That is just a snippet of what I have to say. I have a myriad of thoughts swimming in my brain right now! *takes a breath* PLEASE let me know what you think of this poor, unfortunate soul's thoughts. I might be wrong but I swear he HAS to be single.

Robert Gooooulet! 1933-2007....NATURE!!!

Robert Goulet, the legendary star of stage, screen, television and recordings, was pronounced dead at 10:17am yesterday. He had been suffering from a rapidly progressive pulmonary fibrosis, a condition that is most often fatal. Most treatments are ineffectual. The only successful treatment is lung transplantation. Mr. Goulet had been in intensive care at Cedars Sinai since October 14, 2007.

At the time of his death his wife of 25 years, Vera Goulet, who has been with him constantly since his hospitalization, was holding his hand until his last breath. Also present were his two sons Christopher and Michael along with his longtime friend and family physician Dr. David Kipper.

He is survived by his wife, his two sons, his daughter Nicolette, and his two grandchildren Jordan and Solange. The family is grateful for all of the support from his friends and fans but requests that their privacy be respected at this difficult time. So, Emily, this means we need to stop sending letters everyday like we use to... :)

Need a new ringtone? Check this out!!!

Happy Thoughts by Ashley Handy...I mean Oblad

I was talking to someone and they brought up a scripture...D&C 136:29.

This scripture is actually right after another scripture I hear a lot, being a dancer and all..."If thou art merry, praise the Lord with singing, with music, with dancing, and with a prayer of praise and thanksgiving." However, as cool as that scripture is, that is not the one I wanted to bring up. Verse 29 is the one the friend told me about and it reads, "If thou art sorrowful, call on the Lord thy God with supplication, that your souls may be joyful." How amazing is it that with the one little of action getting on our knees so much can be given in return. I think the one thing we forget when we pray is that we just ask and ask and ask and we forget that this is the moment we are 'one on one' with our Heavenly Father. He is there to listen. He is there to give (when we are ready). He is there to comfort but mostly He is there so our souls may be filled with joy as we pray. I must admit that there have been instances when I asked for certain things and I was frustrated with the situation STILL after I had prayed a myriad of times. We must not forget that our souls my be joyful in and out of prayer. No matter the situation, God wants us to be happy and this joy is given in return...

Anyway, sorry for the seriousness. It happens a lot on here, mainly because I just get these random moments in life that I'm sure some of you are either in or need to hear. I know that I've had that happen from some of your blog posts even when the whole thing was comedic. haha. I've just learned that I take things for granted sometimes and I learn so much from all of you...thanks!

I love you all!!!

Dead or Alive...NO ME! Not the 80s Rock Band!

So, ladies, do you ever get cramps sooooo bad that it feels like you've been shot with a .45 and someone is trying to dig out the bullet with a machete (now that's if the bullet stayed in you)? Well, that's me today! I can't even move. I get lightheaded. Food isn't appetizing. Swallowing pills makes me want to gag unbearably for hours. Nauseated. Blurry-ish vision. Cold with the chills. Feels like creepy crawlies are under my skin. Lying under an Ikea comforter in the fetal position wanting to cry myself to sleep. Um, is it normal for them to be this bad everytime? Hey mom, at least it didn't happen on a Sunday where I'd miss I just have to survive an hour long dance rehearsal at 9p.m. Lame Sauce I Know!!! (at least this explains all the emotional crap earlier this week).

What now...?

Wow my life is boring! Things come and times in dancEnsemble. The Office. Slurpees. Boys. Then comes the part where I get sore from dancing. The Office isn't all that fun as an hour long special. Slurpee machines being broken. Boys? Don't even get me started. It's just hard when I'm either frustrated with THEM for many reasons or with no dates OR when they come over unexpectedly and freak me out. (Right Emily!!?)But life goes on and I'm trying to be happy. And when I say trying, I mean I don't know what to do.... It's soooo hard when Satan makes me feel inadequate and when wonderful new friends come into my life and then kinda forget about me I feel even worse.....Isn't scripture reading awesome? Oh and prayers? Totally amazing! I just keep telling myself that.

Well....anyone willing to give a free hug?

Love, Me

Happiest Place on Earth....after the temples of course!

So, my roommate has a myriad of wedding magazines around our place and on our coffee table happens to be the Martha Stewart Wedding Edition. I have flipped through its 8,700 pages many times...and finally today I noticed one of the pages said something that made me gasp out loud LITERALLY! I have hated this specific page because the model has the worst posture ever invented but how did I miss the real beauty and importance of this page??!!!??

Yes, it is true! Kristie Kelly makes dresses for Fairy Tale Weddings! What the? I love so many of them, especially Belle's B2716....oh so beautiful! If I wasn't LDS and I had money coming out of my ears then I would have a fairy tale wedding with a fairy tale dress and fairy tale maidens and a fairy tale cake and all the good things in life! Year of a million dreams? about Ms. Kelly makes me a modest fairy tale wedding dress for free!? I think that's a great deal!

Apologize by One Republic

Here is my new favorite song! I just love how there is piano, strings, guitar, an awesome beat, a soothing voice...and such! Great mix if you ask me! (Plus, Timbaland is even featured in a remix for it. hmmm). I hope you enjoy...
Peace ~Ash

Fragrance Free...

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when I say the word "lollipop?"

Heartburn, Nausea, Indigestion, Upset Stomach, Diarrhea

Um, so no I don't have any of these symptoms thank heavens. I just love to hate that song and those commercials. Who thought that people grabbing their butts whilst singing "Diarrhea" was a great idea for a commercial? This must be another reason why the French hate us Americans. Yet I must stand tall and say along with Lee Greenwood that I'm still definitely 'proud to be an American.' And I digress.

I am now the one getting sick. What the...? I hate getting like this especially since I have a dance show next week. Soooo not cool. I'm so angry. Boo.Hiss!!! I started getting headaches today...then came the yucky swallowing but just on the left side of my throat. But then my nose got all stingy when I sniffled and I can now feel yuckiness from my nose all the way down my throat. It feels like post nasal drip!!! BLECH. Oh and I can't forget to share that my ears are starting to clog up. All was well as I sucked down about 4 large mugs of Diet Coke at Chili's tonight with Emily! We just said KEEP EM COMING!!!...Now, all I can do to make my throat feel wonderful is eat some of Vermont' s Finest All Natural Ben & Jerry's Berried Treasure Sorbet. Can I just tell you that I am obsessed with this junk? It is a chunky blueberry and blackberry sorbet swirled with zesty lemon sorbet. Yum-o (said ala Rachael Ray) may proceed to sit on your couch and make fun of her now. Let me guess..."Yum-o" is the next word to be added to the dictionary. What the...?

So, I hope I get better fast because who likes to be sick? Not I said the Fat Hen.

Random Thoughts by Yours Truly

You people are da rude-est! But anyway, I don't care what you people say. Your words don't hurt me. I think you all must have scared Ryan away!!! P.S. is he even alive? I got asked how he was doing and all I could say was that he is done with BYU and not married. I can't even tell people about my own cousin. The mystery continues.

Well, so here is the scoop with me. I want to chop my hair off. I LOOOVE IT BEING LONG but i want to "choose [my] ventcha" and see what it's like to have short hair again. Here the picture below is one way how I'd like to do it but not tooooo whispy. I kind of want it to be more to my face and longer. But what I'd like to do is have it short in the back and come longer-ish in the front. I'd like to put some dark red in it too. Now that I'm done with my Folk Dance Career I can do whatever I please because in the Modern World they dont care of the length and there are no fake braids or curly wigs involved. OH and did i mention cute bangs?

I have to wait until after World of Dance is over which is the last weekend in September. Colleen wants our hair to be down and curly for the tap number....YES THIS MEANS I'M MISSING THE OPENER OF THE OFFICE....but my cute roomie Ashley has TiVo...woot woot!!! I love this invention known as TiVo. I think mom and dad should get one, dont you all think? *hint hint*

So, have any of you tried the new Raspberry M&M's? Oh, I soooo love them and they are the size of peanut butter M&M's. At first I was all, "Um, these are interesting" but I had also just brushed my teeth. Then I realized that the whole bag was gone. I ate the whole bag on my drive to school! Oops!!! I recommend it to those that are daring enough to try them and for those that like not only raspberry but raspberry with chocolate. Super Yum!!! When I devoured them like a monkey on a cupcake they were a bit melty. I totally recommend that. P.S. LIZA THERE ARE MELT AWAY MINTS IN THE BOOKSTORE NOW!!! They are SUPER JUMBO ONES! Thought you outta know.

One last thing. I am totally going through this hip-hop/rap/r&b phase right now. Here are some of my favourite songs:
Hip-Hop Police by Chamillionaire,
The Way I Are by Timbaland
Get It Shawty by Lloyd,
Pop Lock n Drop It (Remix) by Huey, etc.,
Make Me Better by Fabolous and Ne-Yo
and some songs by annoying T-Pain

Interesting I know. Peace.

School is a Bore When Your Stuck Indoors......

....Make it fun put it out in the sun!!!

Anyway, hey my lovelies! So today is my second day of school and I am totally loving my classes. I'm taking:
  • Church History: 1900-Present,
  • Tourism: A Conceptual Framework,
  • Methodology of Aerobic Dance,
  • Geography and World Affairs,
  • a class all about Europe,
  • AND Dance Ensemble. Yes!!!
Auditions were yesterday and today the list as posted at 10:30am. I was sooo nervous to check it out....but there it was "Oblad, Ashley." So of course I call mom right away. I was very nervous yesterday at the audition because 72 people were there and rumor was that only 25 were being picked but I think I noticed 30ish names. YIKES!!! My body hasn't experienced Modern since like Winter 2005. Yup. Crazy I know. So, I'm totally excited to get to move my body AND be on another dance team. I know most of the girls already which is nice. 2 were on SPAC and PAC with me so folk dance reunion. And then Rustin from PAC is supposedly choreographing a modern hip-hop piece so.....yay for folkers!!!

2 days down....TOO many left!!! Maybe I should take example from Taylor and make a paper chain...oh wait! I gave all my construction paper to them for artsy and crafties! Tee hee. K I love you all!

P.S. This morning on the radio they said Transformers comes out on DVD mid-October. I still have to see it....Anyway... Thought you outta know...(said ala Hermione Granger)

This Ain't No Mr. Morse Code...

So, I just realized that since I have no children or husband or boyfriend or school (yet) I have nothing to blog about at the moment. I guess I could talk about tour but all I can say that it was awesome and I'd definitely go back to Venice, perhaps Florence cuz of Michelangelo's David, and Paris!!! I'm just glad to be back where I have access to a washer and dryer, North American outlets, SLURPEES, chips and salsa, toilet seats, and free internet! Oh and Sonic Ice.

I did have fun for the 3 days I was home in Vegas when I got to see Taylor, Mandy, Derek, and Dylan. That made my summer. It's been like 87 years!!!!! Well, now that I think about it it's been since the first week of May....well it felt like 87 years!

Anyway, there Alli! I blogged. Comment at your own free-will....just remember to make me some Snickerdoodles! (without the Cream of Tartar...of course)

I Wanna Meet That Dad!

So this has nothing to do with meeting that dad or anything Eric and whatever his name is...SALAME! Every time i saw the word salame (as in the meat) in Italy I said it like SALAME! My friends gave me some deertay looks! hahaha If they only knew of the madness!

So anyway, I thought I'd let you all know that I am doing fabulous. I am home now. I had my first Slurpee when we left the airport. Yes on a Sunday. Oh well! I am no longer homeless either. Yay! Belmont it is. I have rehearsals on the 30th. I'm just glad that only one month is spent rehearsing instead of 8. I just hope I can go to Disneyland in November. I am auditioning for a modern team at BYU and their concert is right before Thanksgiving. I'll see what I can do! I'm sick of missing out!

Love you all!

I Miss All My Family. Suckahs!!!

So, I'm in France right now. Cloudy. Rainy at times. Crepes. Good mild cheese on a baguette. But then there's the sucky humidity and Euros and drunk French men that pull me up on stage to dance and press me up close to their pot belly and breath smoke and beer all over my Polka Quadrille costume...bleh. Oh a funny story.

IT IS FUN HOWEVER!!! I wish you all could be here with me! Sad story. But I can't wait to get home to you all. I miss the States so bad. I miss Slurpees and Macayos Chips and Salsa and In N Out and eating it with those I care about. It's going to take me a long time to ever eat pasta again. OMG! Sooooo much pasta.....

Two more days and I'll be in Paris and then SUNDAY I'll be in Utah!!! Yay!!! Can't wait to see you all!!! Muah!

Blee Blah

So, I know it is time for me to get a new post going...but I seriously have nothing to write about. Well here is my weekend of fun...I guess that will have to do.

  • I went to a wedding of a cousin that I BARELY know. How sad is that? But he was grateful I came to his lovely event. I got to ride the Gondola up the mountain where I saw sheep and patches of snow. We were up high so of course the height we were at above the actual mountain made my legs hurt.
  • Yay for seeing long lost family members at the wedding. I have a really cool picture I'll put up of all the Alex and Bessie Oblad children. We were trying to see who had the lightest colored eyes and who had the same colored eyes (Eddie and Liz won for the lightest) I decided to take a picture of them all gathered around each other. So cute!
  • The food was mahvahlus.
  • Ocean's Thirteen...Awesome indeed!!! Perhaps the best part of the whole movie was seeing Uncle Randy being reprimanded by Mr. Pacino himself! YAY!!! Now we can have another route in the 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon game. Yipee! Oh and I also liked how Ryan, Lydia, and I were like the only ones that laughed when Clooney mentioned The Dunes hotel....haha...oh, Vegas! I bet we were annoying to sit by! Haha!
  • That's basically about it...oh AND I'M GETTING A NEW CELL TODAY! It's been almost 4 years. My phone is dying on me!...
This will have to do until I get more exciting news in my life but as for now I need to go finish my paper. Ciao!

I Forgot I Even Had This...

Here is an email I received from D__ way back on November 27, 2005. He sent it to me while I was sitting next to him. It is OH, SO SPECIAL!!! Well, here it is...

"here is a picture of you and your boyfriend. please show him so he knows how special he is in your heart. hopefully this will help you two overcome the difficulty you are having right now in your relationship and you can realize that you are soul mates. good luck, go big or go home!! (wink wink)"

It is about me and S____ but this was drawn way before he was my "boyfriend." We weren't even together back then. We were just hanging out a lot at that time. Funny, huh?

Eliza and Kissy, You Asked For It

Kissy, I went and took your advice from 2 blogs ago. But do you really want me to share publicly? "I don't think so, Tim!"

Anyway, I said that I would find a new story about my crazy A roommates...well, Jillian, I mean Jill, I mean Ian, likes to eat the leaves and stems off of strawberries. Kristen my other roomie was eating strawberries along with cream cheese and Ian came over, took a spoonful of cream cheese and threw in the s.b. tops that Kristen was discarding!!! WHAT THE FLIPPIN' NASTY???

Anaheim Estrogen

So, yes, this trip was fabulous as you all either know from experience or know from reading the 87 blogs from all the gallies who traveled down to Dinnysan! I loved that we rode Tah Teh 4 times in a day. I hated that our picture didn't come out because someone, as Susan put it, was being naughty!!! I loved our lunch the first day. I hated that after we ate we were stuck in Tomorrowland on the train for 13 years. I loved our hotel. I hate that I left my favorite pair of gauchos there. I loved the toiletries. I hated that the bottles weren't bigger! I loved watching The Office. I hated that we started Casino Royale too late because I feel asleep and I still haven't seen it. Maybe I should bring a date over to the Nelson's house and watch it in their basement...but of course it doesn't count unless I barge in right?

So there you have it people! A new blog! *bows*

BYU is Full of Them!!!

There are some really nice people at BYU...For example, today I was in the women's locker room touching up on my make-up and a girl walked past me and said, "You have really pretty hair!" I thought "did she see my hair today?" because it was of the nappy. I scrunched it last night, woke up today and didn't do a thing to it...which means I had day-old hair---dry and nappy. That comment pretty much made my day because I felt yucky looking! Soooooooo nice huh? Has this ever happened to you (and no, family does not count)?
-------> hahaha!!!

Can YOU tell the difference?

What is it with people and not being able to tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi? That's like not knowing the difference between sugar and salt...they look the same but they sure as heckfire don't taste the same! In my marketing class a couple weeks ago my teacher brought up a study where a HUGE majority of the sample couldn't tell the difference between the two. And I screamed outloud the following: "What!??? Oh I definitely can!!!" The people around me started laughing...*bows*...I mean I can even smell them apart. That's what we have to do when we eat at Training Table--"Okay, who had the Dr. Pepper? This one's definitely yours!" The cups aren't labeled...thanks to my nose we all get to eat happily without having to slurp down someone elses drink.

Maybe I just have some killer tastebuds or some awesome olfactory sensory neurons or something but I'm sure I'm not alone on this one...I'm not saying that I hate Pepsi, don't get me wrong, but I am just trying to make a point that they are easily distiguishable!!!

Please tell me that you agree with this one!

Am I done yet???

So next Fall is going to be awesome!!! I won't have dance at all on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays!!! That means I can actually go home for a weekend if I fancied that idea (which of course I do...or how about a trip to DL)!!! I will have 3 Geography classes on MWF; Church History and Aerobic Teaching on TTh; and maybe Dance Ensemble on TTh (3-4:30p) as well! Here is what my schedule will look like...Ignore the conflict...the computer's gay!

This equals 13 credits with 5 classes. I'm totally cool with that...but the only sucky thing is that I might need to take a class on MW @ 8am!!! Poo Stain that hurts!!! I do not enjoy that hour of the day! Plus, then that means I will have class from 8 to 11! Ewwww! OH HERE IS SOME OTHER NEW NEWS FOR ME!!!.... I am thinking about auditioning for
Clog America. It just looks like fun and I love to move my feet so......why not? I have many friends that are doing it/planning on doing it!

It's going to be hard next year because all of my friends are folk dancers...I don't remember how to make real friends anymore (jk)! This is why I wouldn't mind making Dance Ensemble.
By the way, Dance Ensemble is a modern dance team. It looks like sooo much fun! I do miss moving my body like that!

I hope I can handle going to school knowing that I'm not a folk dancer anymore...HOW SAD? But as I told my mom and others, it is cool to know that the Lord doesn't want me doing PAC or Dancers Company (both touring teams). Those two options are out of the picture. I need to concentrate on finishing up at BYU and making other goals for myself! I SHOULD BE GRADUATING THIS APRIL BUT BECAUSE OF MISCOMMUNICATION (rather lack of communication) FROM CERTAIN PEOPLE I'M STUCK HERE FOR ANOTHER YEAR! However, I did pick up a cool minor in Travel and Tourism. Yipee!!!

FYI: I just got a text from my good ol' buddy Breann Hewitt informing me that the Cougarettes tied for first as National Champions...they are 7 time National Champs! Three-peat in a row!!! Yay for them!

Me is Dumb!!!

What is a girl to do!? I know that reading my scriptures and praying are key, but I still feel as if I'm failing in life.

I miss home; I miss my whole family; I miss Digger for some odd reason (chello! can you say 9 years ago?); I miss being an A student; I miss folk dance just a bit (and oddly enough I'm still in folk dance); I miss dancing with my whole body; I miss Coke; I miss Sonic runs; I miss good mail; I miss being healthy; I miss sunshine (especially today); I miss hugs; I miss hearing "I love you!" from my mom and dad everyday; I miss Harry Potter; I miss waking up actually wanting to go to school; I miss mince and tatties; I miss cheesy potatoes; I miss Christmas; I miss my Patriarchal Blessing (still trying to find that); I miss my room and my bed and my bathroom; I miss my old roomies; I miss Sunday dinners at the Gowan house; I miss not having a washer and dryer in my living unit; I miss "The Office" ( is April 5th here yet!?); I miss late night Slurpee runs with girls that actually buy a Slurpee when we go to 7-11; I miss being a good student; I miss Weight Watcher fudge pops (can't they go back on sale anytime soon?)

I know I need to think about the happy things in life but these are my happy things in life. I still smile and laugh about everything so no worries there...I just wish I was back to the way I was in high school!!! But that was the past...I know that I can't redo anything but I do know that I can make things better by trying now!!!...bleh...

(The nice thing is that I just RANDOMLY saw a girl carrying around posters about the Disney recruiters coming to BYU on April 9th...just a thought!)

Land of the Free and Home of the Disney Lovers!!!...

I want to work at Disneyland!!! My friend just told me that he is auditioning for Disney at a dance studio in Orem! Not only is it for Disney World but for Disneyland too! They NOW have a college program! I want to play that game!!! The last time I auditioned it was just for WDW. I'll get to see my long lost siblings and their famerly and of course I'll get to be a part of the magic. Who me, a "Cast Member?" Yes please! I mean I do have some classes I need to get out of the way... so maybe I'll just work there after school! Even if I worked at a computer I'd love it! But being an entertainer is calling my name.

Just think of all the discounts I could get for you people: theme park admissions and discounts, hotel accommodations, merchandise, and more!!! And look at this crazy Disney fun (sounds like a family reunion):

  • Cast-exclusive film screenings of new Disney films
  • Canoe races inside the Disneyland Park
  • Flashback talent show for charity (Wait until you see our top leaders perform karaoke!)
  • Private tours of The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank
  • Disney Choir
  • Sports team events
It's just a dream but I think it sounds quite awesomely awesome!!!

Give it on up to Ashleyville!!!

Okay. So, I've just been sitting here in front of a Dell flatscreen computer along with 16 other people sitting in front of a Dell flatscreen computer. I don't know what they are doing but I've been sitting here wondering where to start this blog. How weird is it that I have nothing to say or to share? Crazy I know!!! Well, here is what my brain has been thinking as I have been swivelling left and right in this padded office chair:

I could sure go for a Coke Slurpee and some Cheez-Its right now!;
I hate freeway drivers! Don't they know that a carpool lane is not a fast lane and the white double lines are NOT to be crossed over at ANY given time!!! (I'm not even from California! Plus, how long have I been driving and I knew that? NO EXCUSES PEOPLE!!!);
I want a nap! NO!!! I NEED a nap!;
Am I on the folk dance team or not?;
Should I just go work at Disneyland?;
I really need to take Geography 120 over again;
I'm actually really excited to take Geography 120 over again!;
Should I put burgandy in my hair again?;
What would I look like as a red head?;
Tucanos Brazilian Churrasco sounds soooo good right now, especially their Garlic Sirloin!--all burnt on the outside *drools*;
I'm hungry! Fruit Leather is not enough;
Who put the bop in the bop-dabop-dabop? Who put the ram in the rama-lama-ding-dong?;
It is sooo beautiful outside! What am I doing inside? Oh, yeah! I'm trying to write a new blog!!!

So, my friends, there you have it. Nothing has really happened to me this past weekend! I've been bored as ever. Well, I did have fun at Liza's last night for dinner! Yummy "spah-geetee" and gahlic bret! Oh and some good ol' frozen pinapple slices like dad makes all the day! I hope this weeks brings me some fun adventures. It's not like I get to see strange men in demin dresses everyday or have the opportunity to videotape my child's dramatic tantrum attacks!!! I'm trying my best to make life exciting! Until next time.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Back in the days of 1998.....

So, I do believe that it has been since 1998 that the Oblad family has taken a family picture...Riley was itty bitty, I had nasty 8th grade Brinley hair, Casey was the size of a peanut, mom had long hair, Kenzie was wearing clogs and socks...can I just say denim and Old Navy button ups???!!! Soooo many changes y'all!!! You try and count them!

Actually, we did take a picture in the Nelson's front yard at Tay and Mandy's wedding, which was still almost 5 years ago but still!!! There have been 6 children born since... I do like myself in that picture I might add...that never happens!!!! I hope you guys aren't waiting for me to get married to take a new one because that could be YEARS from now...Let's do it A-Sap!!!

We just all need to get together at the same time...all of us...Impossible..."for a plain yellow pumpkin to become a golden carriage...Impossible"...doesn't that just put visions of Leslie Ann Warren in your head? It does for me. Then I start thinking of Clue..."Who are you? Perry Mason?!"

Cleaning Checks are Not the Only Time to Clean, People...

WEEEEEEEELLLLL!!!! Hello there my lovelies! I'd just like to get this out there and share that I have now become a stress cleaner! What the H?!!! One week I cleaned my apartment's kitchen THREE DAYS IN A ROW!!! I now have an inkling of what it must be like to be a wife/mother. And since I can't stand to see a messy kitchen I clean it right away. The coolest part is that none of the dirty dishes or messy countertops are a result of my doing....why you ask? Because I put my dishes into the dishwasher right after using them and I wipe up the counters AND stove. but a full sink three days in a row? Three women? What the H?!!!

I think that my favorite experience of cleaning up the kithchen was one Saturday morning when I woke up to vibrant "lellow geen" stains on the countertops AND floor!!! It had to be a from a roommate. Either that or it was from a run-away raccoon that broke into our apartment late in the night and decided to mark his territory all over our kitchen. Ummmm...definitely not! Roommate it was. I could not get those dang stains out of our *beautifully* white countertops (::note the sarcasm::). I scrubbed so hard I could have sworn that I had no fingertips left and to my dismay the stains were still there. But then I remembered that I had Magic Erasers under the sink, thanks to my mother! Can I just say-----WONDERFUL PRODUCT THERE MR. CLEAN!!! The stains finally came out and I still had no idea where they came from. Then she came out! My roommate Jillian. I mean Jill. I mean Ian....whatever!...

...Oh no worries she said. It was just juice from her pepperocinis (or salad peppers as she calls them). The bottle broke...Yes...all over...She told me that she cleaned it up or at least tried to clean it up...too bad that we all know wiping up something does not mean "CLEAN!" But she is funny! So it's okay....wait no its not! i'm done cleaning up after people! I must get use to it though...too bad that my room looks like my closet threw up!

All of you are of the Froo-its of the Dev-ill!!!

So, I'm sitting here in the computer lab inside the Smith Fieldhouse, checking my emails like a normal bored college student does on any Friday afternoon, noticing that I have about 87 emails telling me that my whole fam damnly has their own blog. People!!! I don't even have time for school let alone to study (parents: pretend you didn't read that)! JK Any-jah-wayz...So here it is! Ashley's very own blog! I would say, "Aren't you jealous?" but all ya'll already have one. I finally have my own. I'm going to try and keep it updated AND interesting as Alli's! I too like to write crazy talk. In all of the english classes I have taken, I have simply most enjoyed writing narritive and descriptive papers. I'm sure that I have probably broken about 63 rules in the english grammatical world but I don't care at the moment! That is just who I am.

I must tell you that I have been laughing out loud quietly, yet histerically, at the many comments and blogs you have posted in the past. Some people in the computer lab have been giving me funny looks. Even my friend at another computer was smiling big at me. I'm sure he was confused...Anyway,I became very jelous of you all and I knew I was missing out in the fun...hence why I am here! Andre the Giant...the Nelson children enjoying the PF salad bar...Da muthas denim dresses...Eric saying talking about the "damn van"..."Oh, I could go on forever, baby!!!" (NAME THAT MOVIE.............................................If you said Home Alone 2, you are in the right family!!!!!!!)

I love you all and I miss you! Even though a few of you live about 2 seconds away from me! Bleh...I can't wait until my next blog!

PostScript: I FINALLY watched "School of Rock" for the first time. I laughed more at Mr. Black's mannerisms than the actual script itself...He is definitely awesome!
